Details & Inspection Notes
This 383 Stroker Crate Engine is a Small Block Chevy build displacing 383 cubic inch and dyno tuned to ~500 HP, offered as a short-block, long-block, or fully turnkey package paired with a matched GM 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. The turnkey version arrives fully assembled and tested rather than needing final assembly on your bench.
What's inside
The bottom end uses a forged crank, forged H-beam rods, and forged pistons for durability under street and occasional track use, while the top end pairs aluminum high-flow heads with a roller camshaft and a performance intake manifold. Fuel delivery is available as either multi-point EFI or carbureted, and A/C, alternator, and power steering provisions can be added as requested.
What to check before buying
Compatibility depends on your mounts, headers, driveline length, and ECU choice, so plan on professional installation and an alignment check of driveline angles, cooling upgrades, and brake/axle capacity for the added power. When paired with the 700R4, the transmission arrives already matched and tuned for the engine rather than sold as a generic unit.
Common questions
Does it come with a transmission? The turnkey package includes a matched GM 700R4 automatic; short-block and long-block options do not.
Is it carbureted or fuel injected? Both multi-point EFI and carbureted configurations are available.
Is the engine tested before it ships? The turnkey build is dyno tuned and tested as a complete assembly.
