Powermaster 7294 GM 12SI 100 Amp Alternator, Natural

This Powermaster 7294 alternator is built on the GM 12SI case in a natural finish, aimed at owners stepping up from an earlier, lower-amperage 12SI unit without changing to a chrome or polished look.

Output and wiring

On a 12-volt system, Powermaster's output numbers run 70 amps at idle, up to 90 at cruise, and 100 at the top end. It is internally regulated and wired for 1-or-3-wire operation, which keeps the harness simple compared with an externally regulated unit.

Mounting and pulley

This unit uses a straight 6.61-inch mounting style with a V-belt drive, and ships with a solid single-groove V-belt pulley already installed, 2.33 inches across and 3/8 inch thick; part 118 is the replacement if you ever need a new one. No mounting bracket is included, so confirm your existing bracket is compatible, or budget for one, before ordering.
