Details & Inspection Notes

Like the XPB, this 2020 Yamaha T9.9XWHB runs a 25-inch shaft, but swaps remote steering for a tiller handle and adds manual starting alongside the electric starter, on the same high-thrust block used across the 9.9 hp two-cylinder range, at 104 lbs.

Who it suits

The T9.9XWHB's 25-inch shaft fits a taller transom than the common length, which suits larger pontoons or sailboats running this as an auxiliary. Having manual starting as a backup to the electric starter means a flat battery does not leave you stranded on the water.

Before you order

Confirm 25 inches is correct for your transom before ordering the T9.9XWHB. Its carbureted 212cc powerhead carries over unchanged from the rest of the T9.9 high-thrust lineup, and this unit is sold new, with factory coverage starting the day you take delivery.

Common questions

What if the battery dies out on the water? You can still start the T9.9XWHB by hand, by pulling the cord.

What warranty period applies here? Yamaha's 3 years, the standard term for the new T9.9XWHB.

Does the T9.9XWHB run a carburetor? Yes, fuel delivery on this particular unit is carbureted rather than electronically injected.

Does the dual starter add much bulk? Some, but the tiller handle and 25-inch shaft stay easy to manage at the stern of most boats this size.
