Details & Inspection Notes
The 2019 Yamaha F25SWHC puts a key-turn electric starter, backed by a manual pull cord, onto a tiller-handled, short 15-inch-shaft outboard, for 132 pounds. It bridges the gap between the lightest manual-only short-shaft F25 and the heavier remote-steer variants in the same engine family.
Tiller convenience
Having an electric starter at the tiller means you don't have to lean down and pull a cord every time you fire up the engine, while still keeping that option available if the battery is ever disconnected. All of the controls stay at the back of the boat.
What to confirm
Your boat needs to take tiller steering, not console controls, and the transom should be cut for a 15-inch shaft. A battery is required to use the electric starter.
Engine
432cc, two cylinders, EFI induction, running a full-throttle band typical of this engine family.
Storage habits worth keeping
A breathable cover over the powerhead between trips does more for a motor sitting outdoors than most owners expect, cutting down on both UV fading of the cowling and the condensation that collects inside a sealed-up engine left in direct sun.
Common questions
Tiller or remote? Tiller handle, with controls at the motor rather than a console.
Is it new? Yes, under Yamaha's warranty terms for new motors, straight from the factory, with none of the wear a used unit would carry.
