Details & Inspection Notes
Yamaha's 2018 F75 Midrange Mechanical, model code F75LB, moved up to a 1.8-liter inline four from a smaller previous block, and the single-overhead-camshaft, four-valve layout still trims 13 lbs versus that older 75 hp design.
Fit before you buy
Because steering is remote mechanical rather than digital, the boat needs the cable and control box for that system already fitted. Dry weight is 353 lbs, and it works equally in fresh or salt water.
Trolling and charging
A Variable Trolling RPM Switch dials idle speed from 550 up to 1000 rpm in steps of 50, useful for anglers who need a slow, steady pace near structure. Three-phase alternators here put out up to 35 amps, feeding trim that runs from -4 to +16 degrees and tilt that reaches 70 degrees.
Quiet running
A labyrinth exhaust system paired with an updated muffler cuts noise at low and medium speeds. Oil capacity runs 3.2 liters when the filter is fitted, dropping to 3 liters bare. A Freshwater Flush Device lets the engine flush without being started, and full throttle tops out near 6000 rpm.
What keeps combustion efficient? Individual sensors watch each cylinder and signal the Engine Control Module to correct spark timing if combustion is incomplete. Is a magnetic drain plug included? Confirm that detail with us before ordering, since Yamaha varies lower-unit hardware by rigging.
