Details & Inspection Notes
The F250XB keeps cable-and-lever steering on the same 4169cc V6 used across this family, tipping the scale at 551 lbs dry on a 25-inch shaft, a fit for boats that already carry mechanical rigging rather than a digital console.
Block and bore
Plasma-fused, sleeveless cylinder walls let Yamaha fit a bigger bore without growing the block's outer size, rated at roughly 60 percent harder than steel, with a micro-textured surface meant to trim friction loss. Trim on this version runs between -3 and +16 degrees.
Buyer notes
Mechanical control here is the lower-cost route if your boat's binnacle and cables are already in place; the digital XCA version in this same displacement class adds electronics cost that only pays off if you want the touchscreen gauge and theft-deterrent features. The lower engine pan uses a polymer composite to shave weight while resisting corrosion, and alternator output climbs as high as 70 amps. Boats already carrying a 4.2-liter V6 bracket and transom reinforcement from a prior repower tend to be the easiest fit for this trim, needing little more than fresh control cables and a quick check of the existing bracket hardware.
Three years of pleasure coverage, three of government coverage, and one of commercial coverage apply to this model. Confirm your rigging compatibility with us before ordering, and ask whether a propeller is included or needs pricing separately.
