Details & Inspection Notes
Drop the remote console entirely and the F25SWHC puts the same 432cc, 25-hp block on a tiller handle, with a key-turn electric start, a 15-inch shaft, and a dry weight of 132 lbs, aimed at smaller boats where hand control at the motor makes more sense than a console.
Controls and steering
Steering happens at the tiller itself here, not from a remote console, so confirm that layout works for how you run the boat; a tiller also means no dash gauges to wire in, which simplifies rigging on a basic skiff. Gear ratio is 2.00:1, and bore and stroke measure 65 by 65.1mm.
Reliability features
Fuel delivery skips the battery, leaning on a built-in decompression device to ease hand-pulling if the key start isn't used. An onboard warning system watches for overheating or low oil pressure, cutting maximum rpm automatically if it senses trouble, and also guards against over-revving and starting the motor while already in gear. Yamaha's corrosion package on this line is standard regardless of control type, so you aren't giving anything up by choosing the tiller build.
Common questions
Can I add a remote steering kit later? Tiller-to-remote conversions exist for some Yamaha portables, but confirm compatibility with us before assuming yours will work with this specific trim.
Limited pleasure coverage on this build runs three years, limited commercial coverage one year. Confirm the exact box contents and control fittings with us before ordering.
