Details & Inspection Notes
Add PT to this F25LC code and you get power trim and tilt on Yamaha's 25-hp portable, not tilt alone, riding a 20-inch shaft at 141 lbs dry around the same 432cc two-cylinder block as its shorter SWC sibling.
Trim and tilt
Power trim and tilt move the engine electrically at the push of a button, which is the real upgrade over a plain tilt-only setup and worth the small weight penalty for most boats that get trailered often. Measure your transom against the 20-inch shaft here, not the 15-inch used elsewhere in this line, before you place an order.
Power and feed
Bore and stroke measure 65 by 65.1mm, with a 2.00:1 gear ratio and battery-less EFI backed by an automatic decompression feature for easier hand-starting if ever needed. Alternator output is 16 amps. A cowling drain routes incoming air through a maze of internal passages that traps water ahead of the intake path during normal running.
Common questions
Is this heavier than the SWC version? Yes, by a modest margin, mostly from the added power trim and tilt hardware and the longer shaft; most buyers find the trade worthwhile for the convenience alone, especially on a boat that gets trailered to the water every weekend.
Limited pleasure coverage runs three years on this configuration, limited commercial coverage one. Confirm your exact rigging needs with us before ordering.
