Details & Inspection Notes
Running a 60-degree, DOHC, 32-valve V8, this 2017 outboard is rated 350 hp at the prop shaft, the biggest engine in Yamaha's lineup covered here. On its 30-inch shaft it weighs 354kg (780 lbs) dry, built for offshore boats that need real reserve torque.
Shaft and fitment
Confirm your transom and bracket can handle both the added length of this 30-inch shaft and the 780 lbs of hanging weight before ordering; a V8 this size is not a drop-in swap for a smaller four-stroke, and most hulls rated for it will already carry reinforced transom structure. Starting is electric.
Power and feed
Displacement is 5330cc, with bore and stroke of 3.70 by 3.78 inches and a 9.6:1 compression ratio. Gear ratio is 1.73:1, and ignition runs through a 32-bit ECM with a coil-in-cap design. Alternator output totals 50 amps, with roughly 33 amps going toward keeping the battery charged, and oil capacity holds 6.5 liters with a filter fitted or 6.3 without. Exhaust runs through an In-Bank dual system with power surge chambers.
Pleasure and government coverage each run three years here, commercial coverage one. Confirm your bracket and rigging with us before ordering.
See our full range of Yamaha outboards for lighter options if 780 lbs is more than your boat can carry.
