Details & Inspection Notes
Rated 250 hp on its 4.2-liter V6, this digitally controlled 2017 outboard draws 70 amps from its alternator. Dry weight runs 562 lbs on the 25-inch shaft version or 571 lbs on the 30-inch version, so confirm which length fits your transom before ordering.
Controls and steering
A digital helm setup is required here rather than cable steering, and the shaft choice between 25 and 30 inches is worth settling before you place an order, since the two options carry different weight and rigging needs. Starting is electric, and tilt reaches 67 degrees on either shaft length.
Block and bore
This block's gearcase reduces at 1.75:1 with a 10.3:1 squeeze in the cylinders. DOHC fuel injection layered with variable camshaft timing handles delivery, and the oil reservoir takes 6.3 liters filtered or 6.0 liters stripped down, with ethanol tolerance capped at the usual 10 percent for this engine family. Buyers switching from an older carbureted V6 to this one usually notice smoother idle and easier cold starts right away, along with less vibration at a trolling pace and a noticeably quieter idle at the dock.
Pleasure and government use are each covered three years, commercial use one. This ships new; confirm shaft length, rigging, and helm compatibility with us before ordering, and let us know if your current bracket is already set up for a digital helm or still needs the wiring run.
