Details & Inspection Notes
The E25DRG is a 2-stroke, 25 hp Evinrude from 2017 built for tiller control, starting by rope on a short, 15-inch shaft. At 150 lbs it's the lightest of this engine's shaft-and-steering variants.
Under the cowling
This 2-cylinder E-Tec block displaces 577 cc, or 35.2 cubic inches, and turns its final gear, set at 2.15:1, through a 5500-6000 rpm full-throttle band. A 3-blade aluminum propeller comes standard, finished in graphite.
How it runs
Shifting covers forward, neutral, and reverse, cooling is by water, and tilt is manual rather than powered on this build. An internal oil reservoir removes the need to premix fuel ahead of each outing, and the alternator sends out 56 amps total with 15 amps dedicated to keeping a battery topped up while the engine runs.
What's included
A fuel tank and fuel line ship with the motor, so there's nothing extra to source to get it running on the water, and the tiller handle doubles as the throttle and shift point.
Coverage
Evinrude's factory warranty on this engine runs 3 years.
Is tilt powered on this one? No, tilt is manual; power trim and tilt is reserved for other builds of this engine.
What color is it? Graphite.
What shaft length does it ride on? 15 inches, the shortest offered for this engine.
How much does it weigh? 150 lbs.
