The NSF20C1 is Nissan's 2015 20 Hp outboard, a step up in output from the 15 Hp pair while staying on the same short, 15-inch shaft, two-cylinder four-stroke block, manual starting, and tiller steering.

What the extra horsepower changes

Making 20 horsepower from this size block calls for a single-venturi carburetor with an accelerator pump, rather than the plainer carburetor on the 15 Hp versions. Full throttle climbs a bit too, to 5,400-6,100 RPM, though the 2.15:1 lower-unit ratio and lever-operated, forward-neutral-reverse shifting stay the same across the range.

Setup notes

Because this is the short-shaft 20 Hp, ask about Nissan's 20-inch, long-shaft version of the same engine if your transom runs deeper. Fuel comes from an external 3.1-gallon tank, and a wet-sump system keeps things lubricated on SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 oil, with a saltwater-rated cooling circuit.
