Details & Inspection Notes
Built for the passenger side of a 1975-81 Pontiac Firebird or Trans Am, OER's 153201A is stamped as a full rear quarter section rather than sold as a thin patch skin.
What this panel replaces
Instead of layering over rust, this piece takes the place of the entire quarter area. New tooling and OE-gauge steel give it factory-correct contours, with openings for the side marker lamp and the fuel filler already formed into the metal panel itself. On body styles that need one, OER builds in the correct upper sail panel shape too.
Trim coverage and finish
OER lists 153201A against the Base, Esprit, Formula and Trans Am trims across the 1975-81 span, so coverage is not limited to one trim level. A black EDP coating guards the steel from corrosion, and OER says the surface is ready for prep, primer and paint with no further stripping needed.
Installation
This is a weld-in panel rather than a bolt-on piece, so OER recommends professional installation to get the contours and gaps right. Confirm your Firebird or Trans Am falls in the 1975-81 range and that the passenger side is what you need before ordering.
Is the sail panel part of this piece? Yes, on the body styles where OER designs one in.
Can this be bolted on? No, OER classes it as a weld-in panel calling for a professional install.
Performance Installation & Verification Checklist
