Details & Inspection Notes

This is a reproduction front fender for a 1968 Camaro Rally Sport, built to replace a rusted or damaged factory original on the driver's side, extension piece included. It's stamped from high-grade steel and finished with a black e-coat (electrophoretic deposition) for corrosion resistance, so it can go straight to prep, primer, and paint without a stripping step.

Fitment note

Rally Sport fenders aren't interchangeable with a standard Camaro fender: the two use different headlamp assembly mounting locations, so a standard fender won't line up correctly on an RS front end, and the reverse is also true. Confirm the car is an RS-trim 1968 Camaro before ordering.

What's included

The fender ships complete with its extension piece, covering the left-hand front corner. Because it arrives e-coated rather than primed, plan on the usual prep and paint work before final installation.

Will a standard 1968 Camaro fender fit an RS car? No, the headlamp mounting locations differ between RS and standard fenders.

Does it need to be stripped before painting? No, the e-coat finish is ready for prep, primer, and paint.

Performance Installation & Verification Checklist

  • Disconnect vehicle battery ground terminal before installing any electrical, sensor, or powertrain hardware.
  • Inspect all vacuum lines, fuel lines, and wiring harness connectors for secure, leak-free engagement.
  • Calibrate electronic sensors, boost control solenoids, and ECU maps according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform initial datalogging check under light load before subjecting vehicle to wide-open throttle.
