The Torqeedo Travel 1103 CS is the short-shaft counterpart to the CL, a direct-drive 3 hp-equivalent tender and kicker motor on a 25-inch aluminum shaft, with tiller steering and electric start, quiet enough to run at 33 decibels. It ships with its 915 Wh lithium battery included.

Build and recent upgrades

This generation of the Travel 1103 adds a sturdier aluminum shaft and an upgraded transom mount compared with the previous version, along with roughly 10 percent more power, carried here on the shorter of the two available shaft lengths rather than the long option.

Weight comes to 38 lbs once the battery is in place, broken down as a 25 lb motor and a 13 lb battery; separating the two for carrying is an option if moving the assembled unit in one trip is impractical, since neither half alone is especially heavy on its own.
