Details & Inspection Notes

The Cruise 3.0 TS is the short-shaft tiller model in this electric outboard line, carrying a 25-inch shaft, electric start, and a motor-only weight of 43 lbs, rated the same 6 hp equivalent as its TL and RS siblings. Dinghies and sailboats up to 3 tons are what Torqeedo builds this motor around.

Equipment in the box

Tiller control, a main switch wired into its own cable set, a propeller matched to the motor, and a stop key that works magnetically all ship with the bare outboard; the battery and charger are each a separate purchase on top of the motor.

Choosing a battery

Torqeedo's own Power 24-3500 lithium pack, at 56 lbs, is the recommended battery, with lead-gel or AGM lead batteries available as a lower-cost alternative for owners who already have them on hand. Fitting the motor to a transom needs only basic hand tools, nothing specialized, and no permanent modification to the boat itself.

A word on shaft length

Twenty-five inches is the shorter of the two shafts Torqeedo offers across the Cruise 3.0 line, aimed at boats with a lower transom; measuring first avoids ordering the wrong length for your particular hull, since swapping shafts after delivery is not a simple fix.

Coverage? Non-commercial use is covered for 2 years, with the housing sealed to IP67.
