Details & Inspection Notes

Sized by Torqeedo as a 6 hp equivalent, the Cruise 3.0 RS is the remote-steer version of this small electric outboard, built on a 25-inch short shaft with electric start and a bare motor weight of 42 lbs. Dinghy and sailboat owners running hulls up to 3 tons are the intended audience here.

Why remote steering changes what ships

Because this is the remote variant rather than the tiller model, the box does not include a throttle; that, along with the battery and charger, gets sourced separately. What Torqeedo does include is the outboard itself, the cable set and main switch for the remote-steering connection, and a matched propeller sized to the motor.

Power source options

At least one Power 24-3500 lithium battery, weighing 56 lbs and sold on its own, keeps this motor running, and lead-gel or AGM lead batteries work as an alternative. Torqeedo also allows third-party 24-volt packs as long as they are matched to the motor's actual power draw, though its own Power 24-3500 remains the recommended choice.

Mounting and fit

A couple of hand tools are all that is needed to mount this motor, and that holds whether you end up with the remote version here or its tiller-steered sibling. Measure your transom for the 25-inch shaft length before finalizing an order, and budget separately for a compatible remote throttle.

Coverage? A 2-year, non-commercial-use warranty applies, alongside an IP67 waterproof rating.
