Details & Inspection Notes
Falling between the TS and TXL on shaft length, the Cruise 10.0 TL runs the same 20 hp-equivalent, 48-volt tiller platform, on a 20-inch long shaft, electric starting, with motor weight at 136 lbs, built for boats up to 10 tons.
Instrumentation built into the tiller
An onboard computer sits in the tiller handle itself, reporting speed, power draw, battery charge, and distance remaining, fed by a GPS built into the motor, so there is no separate gauge to mount on the dash. The pylon uses helical gearing aimed at staying compact and low-drag through the water.
Battery choices
Running this motor takes two Power 48-5000 lithium battery packs, sold separately, though lead-acid batteries work as well, with the caveat that the display's capacity reading only functions with the lithium packs. A charger is likewise not bundled with this tiller motor, so that is one more item to source alongside the batteries themselves.
Fitment and what ships standard
This 20-inch shaft sits in the middle of the Cruise 10 range, so measure your own transom rather than assuming the mid-length option is the right fit. Standard gear in the box: an emergency stop magnetic chip, a main switch and terminal screws wired into the battery cable set, a 5-pin data cable, a propeller, and anodes to guard against corrosion.
Rating? IP67 sealing here, backed by a 2-year non-commercial warranty, matching the rest of the Cruise 10 line.
