Details & Inspection Notes
Rated as a 20 hp equivalent on Torqeedo's 48-volt platform, the Cruise 10 TS uses tiller steering, a 15-inch short shaft, electric start, and weighs 133 lbs at the motor itself. Torqeedo sizes it for motorboats, dinghies, and commercial users running boats up to 10 tons.
What the drivetrain offers
Power comes from two Power 48-5000 lithium batteries, sold separately, moving through a pylon designed to stay compact and low-drag using helical gearing rather than a bulkier conventional lower unit. A built-in GPS feeds an onboard computer and display that tracks speed, power draw, battery charge level, and remaining range, all visible on the tiller itself rather than a separate dash gauge.
Battery choices
This tiller motor ships without batteries or a charger, so plan on sourcing the two Power 48-5000 lithium packs, or lead-acid batteries if that is preferred; running on lead-acid means the display will no longer show battery capacity, since that reading depends on the lithium pack's own electronics rather than the motor itself.
Fitment and what is included
Measure your transom and make sure the 15-inch short shaft is the right call before placing an order. In the box: tiller control, the onboard computer and display, an emergency stop magnetic chip, a battery cable set with main switch and terminal screws, a 5-pin data cable, a propeller, and sacrificial anodes against corrosion.
Rating? This motor carries an IP67 waterproof rating and a 2-year warranty for non-commercial use, the same coverage Torqeedo applies across its Cruise lineup.
