Details & Inspection Notes
A 25-inch ultra-long shaft, built for boats whose transom sits unusually tall, is the headline feature on the MFS60AETUL: an 866cc, three-cylinder four-stroke rated at 60 hp with EFI delivery. Electric start is standard, steering can be set up as tiller or remote mechanical depending on what the boat needs, and the unit weighs in at 221 lbs with the same 5000-to-6000-rpm full-throttle ceiling found across the MFS60 line.
Rigging note specific to this shaft length
Remote-rigged versions of Tohatsu's 40 to 60 hp line in this ultra-long configuration ship as the power head alone: side-mount remote boxes, multi-function tiller handles, control cables, gauges, a water or fuel separator, the propeller, and the fuel tank and its lines are not included and need to be sourced separately to finish the installation.
Engine details shared across the family
Idle speed can be dialed from 650 to 950 rpm, the lower unit rinses down through its own built-in flush fitting, and a 21 amp alternator covers the electrical side — all common to the whole MFS60 line, along with anodized piston crowns and dual intake valves for throttle response and a gear ratio tuned toward torque over top speed.
Is rigging hardware included in the price of the motor? No, confirm separately what the boat already has before adding this engine.
The motor ships with power trim and tilt, a charging system, service tool kit, stop switch lanyard and owner's manual, under a 5 year factory warranty.
