Details & Inspection Notes

Sold here used, this Tohatsu MFS50AETS keeps the 50-hp, three-cylinder, EFI-fed four-stroke that displaces 866cc on its 15-inch shaft, along with electric start and the tiller-or-remote steering choice. Weight is unchanged from new: 214 lbs, 225 once you add the tiller handle.

What a used 50-hp like this still offers

The same lower-ratio gear case that defines this line carries over on this used unit, along with idle speed that still adjusts from 650 to 950 rpm, same as new, since these are mechanical design traits rather than parts that wear out quickly. A stainless steel liner in the water pump housing was part of the original build for long-term durability, and that does not change with hours on the clock. Three cylinders at this displacement also keep the engine running smoother than a twin would at the same output.

Buying this one used

Full throttle still runs 5000-6000 rpm, a figure worth checking during a test run before you commit. Being a used motor rather than new, please confirm hours and overall condition with us before ordering, and ask what accessories, if any, ship with this specific unit, since rigging can vary between individual used motors even within the same model line.
