Details & Inspection Notes
This used Tohatsu MFS30CETL pairs a three-cylinder, 526cc EFI four-stroke rated at 30 hp with electric start, a tiller-or-remote steering setup, and a 20-inch shaft. Listed weight is 182 lbs, and Tohatsu's battery-less EFI system drives the injectors without drawing on a battery to do it.
How this one is set up
Because electric start is on board, the motor carries a multi-function tiller handle that groups throttle, shift and other controls on the grip itself, so your hands stay in one place while running. The gear case favors the low end of the rpm range, with a ratio that runs from roughly 1.92:1 to 2.17:1 depending on prop pitch, trading some top speed for stronger hole-shot pull. A 6.6-gallon (25-liter) tank, complete with fittings and a fuel line, supplies the fuel.
Protection features and upkeep
An audible alarm covers overheating, a separate one covers low oil pressure, and start-in-gear protection plus an over-rev limiter are both built in. A freshwater flush port on the lower cowling makes rinsing after a saltwater trip quick, the water pump housing liner is stainless steel, and zinc coating on the internal passages works with the marine-grade aluminum alloy block against corrosion. Exhaust routes out through the propeller for a quieter ride at idle and cruise.
- EPA and CARB ultra-low-emission rated
- Aluminum propeller included
- Full throttle: 5250-6250 rpm
Is a safety lanyard included? Yes, a cut-off lanyard ships standard on every Tohatsu outboard in this line. Because this unit is used, confirm hour count and cosmetic condition with us before you order.
