Details & Inspection Notes

The MFS25DETL combines Tohatsu's 526cc three-cylinder 25hp four-stroke with power trim and tilt and the flexibility to rig as either a tiller or remote-steered engine. At 157 lbs on a 20-inch shaft, it sits between the lighter tiller-only models and the heavier trim-equipped variants in the lineup.

Deciding between tiller and remote

Because this engine accepts either steering style, decide upfront whether you want a tiller handle or a remote control head wired in, since that choice affects what rigging parts you will still need to buy; the control box, cables and gauges for a remote setup are sold separately either way.

Trim and tilt power draw

Power trim and tilt runs off the boat's electrical system alongside the starter, so confirm your wiring and battery are sized for both before leaning on them in regular use.

What's included

Standard equipment pairs power trim and tilt with battery-charging capability, a handful of service tools and spares, a kill-switch lanyard, and the printed manual. Electric start is backed by a manual pull-start.

This 25hp four-stroke spins up to 5000-6000 rpm at full throttle on EFI, backed by a 5-year Tohatsu warranty.

Common questions

Does this come with trim and tilt? Yes, power trim and tilt is standard on this model.

Is a remote control box included? No, remote rigging components are ordered separately regardless of which steering style you choose.
