A shorter shaft, same tiller control

Fifteen inches fits a lower transom than the 20-inch tiller versions of this engine, so measure the boat first rather than matching on horsepower alone. Tiller steering keeps the throttle, shift, and steering together at the motor, with nothing to route to a console.

Starting either way

Turning a key is the normal way to start it, with a pull cord sitting ready if the battery runs low, so neither method depends on the other working correctly. The block is a two-cylinder, 333cc EFI design, climbing toward 6,100 rpm at full throttle, and it carries Tohatsu's 5-year warranty.
