Suzuki 9.9 HP DF9.9BTX Outboard Motor

The DF9.9BTX is the extra-long-shaft version of Suzuki's 9.9 hp four-stroke: a 25-inch shaft with remote steering, electric start backed by a manual pull cord, and power tilt. It fits sailboats and other boats with a deep transom where the shorter 9.9 hp shafts in this lineup would not reach the water properly.

Fit to confirm before you order

This extra-long 25-inch shaft runs well past the short and long-shaft tiller versions in this family, so measure your transom carefully; it is not interchangeable with either of those shorter configurations. Steering and throttle are handled through a remote control station rather than a handle on the motor itself.

What ships with it, and what does not

Alongside the motor you get a 3.1-gallon external fuel tank and line, a 4-blade aluminum propeller 10 inches in diameter, an owner's manual and a tool kit, all covered by a three-year Suzuki warranty. A battery and the cables for remote-control steering are not part of the package and need to be sourced separately for your installation.

Running gear

Electric start draws on a built-in 12-volt alternator, with the manual pull cord retained as backup, and electronic fuel injection replaces a carburetor for smoother running. The finish is saltwater rated with multi-layer corrosion protection throughout.

Is a battery included with the motor? No; a battery is not included and should be purchased on its own.
