Suzuki's 40 HP two-stroke is a twin-cylinder engine displacing 696 cc, with a bore and stroke of 79 by 71 mm, weighing 76 kg on a 508 mm shaft and steered remotely rather than by tiller.
Running on a fuel-oil mix
Unlike the four-stroke motors in this lineup, this engine runs on a 50 to 1 fuel-to-oil mixture rather than drawing oil from a separate sump, so keep pre-mixed fuel on hand rather than straight gasoline. Maximum output is rated at 29.4kw, with full throttle running from 5,000 to 5,600rpm.
Rigging details
Electric start is standard, shifting through forward, neutral and reverse at a 2.09 to 1 gear ratio, and an optional 12-volt, 80-watt alternator can be added if your rigging needs more charging capacity than the base engine provides.
