Details & Inspection Notes
The Suzuki 200 HP DF200A is a DOHC, 16-valve inline four-stroke built on a 175.9 cubic inch (2,867 cc) block. It is offered with mechanical shift at 529 lb or drive-by-wire shift at 531 lb, steers from a remote binnacle, and comes finished in Pearl Nebular Black or Cool White.
Matching it to your boat
Suzuki recommends a 25-inch transom height for this motor, so measure carefully before ordering rather than assuming a shorter mount will work; getting that measurement wrong changes how the boat rides and how the propeller performs. The DF200A runs between 5,500 and 6,100 rpm at full throttle on multi-point sequential electronic fuel injection across its in-line four cylinders, with a 2.50 to 1 gear ratio carrying that power to the propeller shaft.
Mechanical shift or drive-by-wire
Two shift systems are available on this engine. The mechanical-shift version weighs 529 lb, while the drive-by-wire version, which replaces the cable linkage with an electronic control, weighs 531 lb. Either way, spark comes from a solid-state direct ignition module rather than a set of points or a distributor.
Propeller and service notes
Propeller pitch is selected from a 17 to 27.5 range rather than fixed at the factory, so your rigger can tune it to your hull and load. A 12-volt, 44-amp alternator keeps the electrical system charged, and the oil pan holds 8.5 quarts for routine service.
Which shift system does this engine use? Either is available: mechanical at 529 lb or drive-by-wire at 531 lb. What colors can I choose? Pearl Nebular Black or Cool White.
