Details & Inspection Notes
The Multimatic 235 is a compact multiprocess welder built for light fabrication, pairing MIG and TIG capability with flux-cored work in one 127-pound machine that moves easily around a shop or into tight spaces. It mounts on an included running gear and cylinder rack for transport, or comes off the cart when portability matters more than rolling on wheels.
What comes with it
The package includes a 15-foot MIG gun, two 10-foot work cables, one with an electrode holder and one with a clamp, both ending in 50mm Dinse-style connectors, a gas regulator with a flow gauge plus a hose fitted for argon or an argon/CO2 blend, extra contact tips, reversible drive rolls sized for thin wire, and a material thickness gauge.
Fitting it into your shop
Input voltage auto-senses between 208 and 240, and amperage tops out at 235 with a duty cycle of 60 percent at 170 amps. Without the cart, the welder measures about 19.24 by 13.75 by 24.25 inches; mounted on the running gear, the footprint grows to roughly 32 by 13.75 by 45 inches. Miller rates this machine across skill levels, from a first-time welder to a career professional.
Q: Can it run on a standard shop circuit? It auto-senses across 208 to 240 volts, so it works with common shop and light industrial circuits in that range.
Q: Does the cart come separately? No, the running gear and cylinder rack ship with this package.
This is a new unit, with Miller's three-year warranty terms and a California Prop 65 notice attached, as is standard for welding equipment like this. See our welding equipment selection for higher-amperage power sources if 235 amps is not enough for your work.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
