Details & Inspection Notes
This package adds Miller's ArcReach smart feeder to the XMT 350 FieldPro power source, built for MIG work where the wire feeder needs to sit well away from the machine. Once the feeder lead connects, control shifts over automatically, so an operator can run regulated metal deposition or pulsed MIG from up to 200 feet out without walking back to the power source.
Why the distance matters
Running RMD or pulsed MIG through the smart feeder at range is meant to cut weld failures, and on some stainless and chrome-moly jobs it can remove the need for backing gas, since the process works off one wire and one gas without a switchover. That suits fabrication spread across a large shop floor or a spread-out jobsite.
What ships with it
The XMT power source weighs 93 pounds and the smart feeder adds another 55, with the pair measuring about 17 by 12.5 by 24 inches. This configuration covers stick, MIG, TIG, and flux-cored welding on mild steel and stainless, auto-sensing from 208 to 575 volts on single- or three-phase power. Amperage tops out near 425, with the duty cycle figured at 60 percent for 350 amps three-phase, or 300 amps run single-phase.
Q: Does the feeder need its own power hookup? No, it draws control and welding power through the lead once connected to the XMT power source.
Q: Can it still run stick or TIG? Yes, stick and TIG stay available at the power source even while the smart feeder handles MIG at distance.
Expect new-unit condition here, Miller's three-year warranty terms, and the California Prop 65 notice that comes standard on welding gear like this. Browse our welding equipment selection for other ArcReach-equipped XMT configurations.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
