Details & Inspection Notes
At 15 pounds, this stick-only machine suits a buyer who wants a light, simple welder rather than a multiprocess unit, rated to weld up to 5/16-inch mild steel on either 120V or 240V through plugs included in the box.
What it does, and does not, do
This is DC stick only — no MIG, no TIG — built for jobs where one process covers everything needed. Hot Start technology helps the arc strike cleanly without the electrode sticking at the start of a pass, which matters most on a 120V household circuit where available power is tighter than a dedicated shop line.
Before ordering
On 120V, amperage runs 20 to 80A for material from 1/16 to 1/8 inch, drawing about 21 amps. On 240V, the range extends to 20 to 160A covering 1/16 to 5/32-inch material, with a 30 percent duty cycle at the top end. Maximum open circuit voltage is 91V. Check which outlet type your work area has, since both duty cycle and material thickness shift depending on the voltage you plug into.
What ships in the carton
An electrode cable with a stinger, a matching work cable with a ground clamp, a power cord carrying both plug types, and a pouch sized to hold the cables when the welder travels.
Can this run comfortably on a standard household outlet? Yes, the 120V setting is built around that kind of circuit specifically.
Miller's 3-year warranty applies to this new unit.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
