Details & Inspection Notes
Built for light manufacturing where power quality can be unpredictable, this 255-series Miller inverter runs pulsed MIG alongside flux-cored wire, DC stick, a lift-arc start, and pulsed TIG, and Auto-Line hardware takes any single-phase feed between 208 and 575V without rewiring anything by hand.
Materials and skill level
This is a career-welder machine for mild steel and stainless steel — no aluminum rating here. Pulsed MIG trims heat going into thin material, cutting distortion and spatter so there is less grinding once the weld is done, and a program mode saves favorite settings so you are not redialing them every shift.
Before buying
Bare, the power source weighs 84 pounds and is rated for a 60 percent duty cycle at 230A. It can sit on optional running gear for moving around the shop or come off entirely for a confined space. Its gun runs Bernard S Lock consumables that twist in with one motion; a four-program EZ-Select gun is sold separately for shops that want quick preset switching.
Included hardware
The listing supplies the power source on its 10-foot cord (no plug attached), a gun built specifically for Bernard S Series consumables, matching work leads, a flow regulator, extra tips, reversible drive rolls, and a thickness gauge so you can start a job the same day it arrives.
Three years of Miller coverage on this new machine.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
