Details & Inspection Notes
This Maxstar 400 package is built out with a water-cooled TIG torch and a wireless remote foot control, so amperage can be adjusted without a cable running back to the machine. It is a DC TIG and stick inverter, with input accepted anywhere between 208 and 575 volts, no manual relinking needed.
What's included
The package includes a 25 ft water-cooled torch with a cable cover, a matching torch accessory kit, a regulator and flowmeter with gas hose, a 15 ft weld lead with clamp, four gallons of coolant, a Coolmate 3.5 cooling system, and the wireless remote foot control itself. A cart rounds out the setup, carrying a cylinder rack, a mounting slot for the pedal, and holders for cables, torches, and TIG electrode fillers.
Power details
Duty cycle is rated at 60% at 300A for stick and TIG alike, and at 135 lbs the power source itself is a shop-based machine rather than one you carry to a site. A 120-volt auxiliary outlet runs the cooler or small tools, and nine program memories store favorite settings for repeat jobs.
Is the foot control wired or wireless? Wireless, which is the main difference from other complete Maxstar 400 packages.
Does it need a water supply? It uses the included Coolmate 3.5 closed-loop cooler with pre-mixed coolant, not an external water line.
Can this run on a standard shop outlet? It needs one of its listed voltages, not a standard 120V household circuit.
