Details & Inspection Notes
The Dynasty 800 is Miller's heavy-duty AC/DC inverter built around a single job: welding aluminum up to 1 in thick, with stick capability alongside it. It is rated 800A, and its duty cycle holds 60% at 450A while stepping to 60% at 600A; the unit weighs 198 lbs.
Arc control
Nine program memories hold saved settings, and meter calibration supports certification work. Independent amplitude control lets EP and EN amperage be set separately to manage heat into the work versus the electrode, and extended AC balance and adjustable frequency give fine control over oxide cleaning and arc width on aluminum. High-speed DC TIG pulse runs up to 5,000 times per second for added stability. Stick output benefits from the same DIG-style arc shaping, plus an adaptive hot start that keeps electrodes from 7018 to 6010 starting cleanly.
What ships, what doesn't
It comes with two thread lock adapters and one water-cooled thread lock torch adapter sized for Miller's 18 or 20 series torches. The primary cord and the TIG torch itself both need to be ordered separately. Input power covers 208 up to 575 volts with no manual relinking needed, covering most shop and job-site service.
Is a torch included? No, the TIG torch and primary cord are both separate purchases with this listing.
Can it weld aluminum this thick? Yes, up to 1 in according to this unit's own rating.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
