Details & Inspection Notes
Choosing the Pro version of the dual Intellx feeder on this Deltaweld 500 MigRunner buys extra wire flexibility: stainless, metal-cored, and multiple gas types join the standard solid and flux-cored range. The cart underneath carries a dual-cylinder running-gear rack, with the Bernard gun on this dual-spool setup rated to 15 feet.
Why ArcConnect over 14-pin
Miller's ArcConnect system sends point-of-use control to the feeder over one high-speed cable rather than a bundle of pins, and this package skips the 14-pin receptacle entirely in its favor. Accu-Pulse refines the pulse arc itself for a steadier puddle, a benefit Miller ties to meaningful wire-speed and deposition improvements on suitable jobs, while Wind Tunnel Technology and Fan-On-Demand hold down contamination and fan noise.
Numbers that matter here
The 500A mark is where duty cycle maxes out at 100%, dropping to 60% by 575A, inside a 30-650A, 10-44V output window, with the power source alone at 405 lbs and gouging rated to 3/8″ carbons. Feed speed on the Pro feeder runs 50-780 ipm across .023-5/64″ wire, with a spool capacity up to 18″ or 60 lbs and a feeder weight of 44.8 lbs.
The drive system uses the same balanced-pressure roller design and accu-mate gun connection found on the standard feeder, so wire feeds straight and the gun stays seated, but the Pro electronics unlock the wider wire-type range. Miller covers the package with a manufacturer's warranty at the Career Welder level.
What does the Pro feeder add over the standard one? Stainless and metal-cored wire plus extra gas types, on top of the solid and flux-cored wire the standard feeder already handles. Why no 14-pin receptacle here? This configuration relies on ArcConnect cables in its place.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
