Details & Inspection Notes
Add the WIC package to a Big Blue 400 Pro and the configuration changes, but the core machine stays the same: a Kubota diesel engine driving 400 amps of DC output, with ArcReach compatibility built in standard. Dynamic DIG keeps the arc consistent by adjusting short-clearing current on a time-based algorithm rather than a single fixed value, which Miller tunes to the application, the material, fit-up, and the operator's own technique.
What ArcReach changes on the jobsite
Once an ArcReach feeder or Stick/TIG remote is wired in, the controls move to that remote point automatically, so settings get adjusted at the arc instead of back at the machine. That means no extra control cord to run, buy, or troubleshoot, and it keeps the operator closer to the work rather than walking the jobsite between adjustments.
Panel features
Meters on the panel use SunVision technology to stay readable outdoors, and a USB port sits alongside hot-start and idle adjustments the operator sets for the job at hand. A block heater handles cold mornings on 120V power, Stick open-circuit voltage stays low for safety, and the cabinet carries thermal overload protection and a powder coat finish built against rust. A 14-pin receptacle rounds out the connections.
Duty cycle is rated 100% at 400 amps, and at 1,000 lbs this configuration mounts to a trailer or truck bed rather than a hand cart. It is built for Career Welder-level heavy industrial work, and Miller stands behind it with a manufacturer's warranty.
Does the WIC package change the engine? No, it keeps the Kubota diesel and the rated output the same; it changes the included configuration. Does ArcReach work right out of the box? It needs an ArcReach-compatible feeder or Stick/TIG remote connected; once paired, control shifts to that point automatically.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
