Details & Inspection Notes
The Miller Maxstar 210 STR is a new DC stick and TIG welder built around Auto-Line technology, automatically sensing and connecting to input power between 120 and 460 volts without manually relinking the power source. It does not weld aluminum and has no high-frequency arc start.
What it is for
Low open-circuit voltage, between 9 and 14 volts DC, keeps the stick side safer when the machine sits idle between passes, while Lift-Arc starting handles TIG ignition without high frequency. A memory card port lets users update software and expand features over time.
What to check before buying
- Processes: DC stick and DC TIG only on this model; no MIG or flux-cored capability.
- Rated output: at 230 volts single phase, this machine delivers 210 amps TIG at 60 percent duty cycle.
- Weight: 36 pounds, light enough to carry between a shop and a job site in one trip.
What voltages does it accept? 120, 208, and 230 volts.
What comes with it? An 8-foot power cord with no plug and two 50-millimeter Dinse connectors.
What is the warranty? Miller backs this welder with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
Dual TIG and dual stick schedules, plus Pro-Set guided parameter setting, are built in for operators who switch between job types often and do not want to reset the machine by hand each time. welding equipment

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
