Details & Inspection Notes
At 35 lbs and running on standard 120V power, Lincoln's Power MIG 140 MP (K4498-1) runs DC TIG, Stick, flux-cored wire, and standard MIG on mild steel or stainless, giving a weekend welder one portable unit instead of three single-process machines.
Who it suits
TIG here runs DC only, so aluminum is outside what this machine does on its own; that would call for the SG100 spoolgun, sold as a separate accessory and not part of this listing. Straight out of the box, it's set up to MIG and stick weld material up to 3/16 inch thick in one pass, and the 110-120V input means it moves easily between a shop bench and a trailer.
Controls and setup
Changing drive rolls needs no tools, and two knobs plus a single process-select button handle the switch between MIG, Stick, and TIG. A built-in switch flips between the stock MIG gun and an optional spool gun, and the twist connectors are sized oversized for everyday wear rather than light use. Current draw tops out near 20A on single-phase 120V service.
Common questions
Is a TIG torch included? No, the torch, foot control, and spoolgun for aluminum are each a separate purchase on this version. What ships with the welder? A 10 ft MIG gun, plus the electrode holder, work clamp, and regulator each on their own lead or hose, sample spools of both MIG and flux-core wire, and a few spare tips and rolls for later.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
