Details & Inspection Notes
A used JDM Nissan SR20DET turbo engine, the higher-output version of the SR20 produced from late 1990 to 1994, pulled as a complete running unit for a swap or replacement project.
What this engine is
This 1998cc DOHC inline-4 runs 16 valves and a Garrett T28 (TB2804) turbocharger, with compression brought down to 8.3:1 to suit forced induction and boost pressure raised to 10.5 psi (0.72 bar). The build includes reinforced head bolts, oil jets, connecting rods, and crankshaft along with individual throttle bodies, and 440cc/min fuel injectors, a spec package associated with the SR20DET's long-running popularity in Japan's drift scene. It was most commonly fitted to the Nissan Silvia and 180SX/200SX, and the SR20 family more broadly has also been used in the Nissan Almera, Primera, Pulsar, X-Trail GT, and Infiniti G20, among others.
What comes with the unit
Beyond the long block itself, this JDM pull comes with a 5-speed turbo transmission, ECU, wiring harness, igniter, mass flow sensor, intake and exhaust manifolds, valve cover, coil packs, alternator, and power steering pump, giving most of what a full swap needs in one package.
Common questions
What turbo does it use? A Garrett T28 (TB2804).
What vehicles was this engine commonly used in? Primarily the Nissan Silvia and 180SX/200SX, though the broader SR20 family covers several other Nissan and Infiniti models.
Is a transmission included? Yes, a 5-speed turbo transmission is part of the package.
