Details & Inspection Notes
Unlike the MIG-only version of this body style, this 200-amp machine covers MIG, stick, and DC TIG from one power source, at the same dual-voltage, 28.7-pound build. It cannot TIG weld aluminum, since its TIG mode is DC only rather than AC/DC.
Controls built for switching processes
A 2T/4T trigger hold is meant to cut hand fatigue during longer MIG runs, while independent control over wire feed speed, amperage, and voltage lets an operator fine-tune each process rather than relying on preset combinations. Spool-gun detection is automatic for aluminum MIG work, and pre/post-flow gas timing is adjustable for cleaner TIG starts and stops.
Specification and fit checks
- Maximum plate thickness and wire-diameter ranges match the rest of this ESAB platform
- Dual voltage runs 115 and 230 volts; confirm your shop outlet matches before ordering
- Rated for home/hobby and light-industrial, single-phase use, DC polarity
- At 28.7 pounds shipping weight, it suits beginner and weekend-warrior users alike
Additional features include variable inductance control, arc-force adjustment for stick work, and thermal overload protection built into the control board. This new unit carries ESAB's 3-year coverage.
Can this weld aluminum with TIG? No, its DC-only TIG mode does not cover aluminum.
What processes does it cover that the MIG-only version does not? Stick and DC TIG, in addition to MIG.

Welding Equipment Setup & Pre-Operation Checklist
- Verify workshop mains voltage, circuit breaker rating, and phase match the welding machine specifications.
- Inspect ground clamp cable, torch lead, and work cables for tight, clean, low-resistance connections.
- Secure shielding gas cylinders upright with safety chains; inspect regulator and hose connections for gas leaks.
- Confirm correct wire diameter, drive roll groove profile, and contact tip size match the spool installed.
