Details & Inspection Notes

The Cruise 12.0 RS TorqLink is a 48-volt electric outboard rated at a 25 horsepower equivalent, built for boats up to 10 tons, with a 15-inch short shaft and remote, electric-start operation. At 132 lbs for the motor alone, it mounts with the built-in GPS, onboard computer, and display that every Cruise model carries for speed, input power, battery state of charge, and remaining range.

What's included and what isn't

This Remote model ships with the TorqLink data cable set, main switch, propeller, and tilt switch, but the throttle, batteries, and charger are sold separately. Torqeedo's own Power 48-5000 lithium batteries pair with this motor; two are typically needed, adding roughly 160 lbs beyond the motor's own weight. Lead-acid batteries work too, though the motor's display will not show battery capacity when running on them.

Why TorqLink matters here

The TorqLink communication system lets the motor, battery, and display share data faster and more accurately than a standard analog hookup, which is where the live range and state-of-charge readout comes from. The motor's helical gear design keeps the underwater housing compact and low-drag.

Condition and warranty

This is a new motor, covered for 2 years under non-commercial use.

Do I need to buy a battery separately? Yes, batteries, the throttle, and chargers are sold separately from the motor.

Can I use lead-acid batteries? Yes, but the onboard display will not show battery capacity with lead-acid in place of Torqeedo's lithium packs.
