What it's for

A turbocharged Perkins diesel, rated at roughly 24.7 horsepower and spinning at 1800 RPM across three water-cooled cylinders, provides the power here. DC welding smoothness tops out around 350 amps on this Perkins-powered package, and a Custom Arc control adjusts engine speed by up to 150 RPM to fine-tune heat input at the arc. A 5-step current control works together with fine tuning to set amperage, voltage, and slope, supporting a digging arc for root beads or a softer arc for stacking passes on fill and cap work.
