Details & Inspection Notes
The DF25AS EFI runs the same 3-cylinder, 489 cc, 25 hp four-stroke as the DF25AL, but adds a choice between manual and electric starting on top of tiller or remote steering. Manual start weighs 136.6 pounds; with electric start it is 143.
Before you order
Four combinations exist here: manual or electric start, paired with tiller or remote steering, and each ships with different hardware and a different weight, so settle on your preference ahead of time. The 20-inch recommended transom height carries over from the AL trim.
Inside the engine
This runs to the same recommended 5000-6000 rpm as its sibling, with a gas-assist strut built into the power trim and tilt system for easy adjustment across several tilt positions. The propeller is a 9.25-inch, 3-blade unit with a 10-inch pitch, and a 14-amp alternator supplies 12 volts regardless of which start type is fitted.
Inside the box you will find the tool kit, owner's manual and aluminum propeller alongside the 3.1-gallon tank and fuel line, with Suzuki's three-year warranty behind the whole package.
Can I mix a manual start with remote steering? Yes, start type and steering are independent choices here.
Is the engine itself any different between the manual and electric versions? No, the block and output are the same either way; only the starting hardware and the shipped weight change.
