Details & Inspection Notes
The Lincoln Outback 145 is a portable engine-driven welder and generator built for service trucks, fence work, farm and ranch use, and maintenance crews: up to 145 amps of DC stick output paired with AC generator power, all protected by an included canvas cover.
What it's for
This unit covers stick welding electrodes up to 1/8 inch, and the AC side is rated at 4,750 watts peak and 4,250 watts continuous, enough to run a grinder, lights, a pump, or to assist a motor start on the jobsite. A Lincoln Electric Power MIG 140C can also be plugged into this machine for wire welding when that process is needed on site.
What to check before buying
This is a single-phase, DC-only stick machine rated for home, hobby, and light industrial use, with a duty cycle of 30 percent at 125 amps, rising to 100 percent at 80 amps, so plan your welding current around how long each pass needs to run. At 285 pounds, it is portable enough for a truck bed but still needs two people or lifting equipment to move safely.
What comes with it
Low-lift grab bars are built in for getting the unit on and off a truck bed. Fuel comes from a 6.8-gallon tank with a large fill opening, sized to stretch run time between refuels, and a Lincoln canvas cover ships with the machine for weather protection when it sits outdoors between jobs.
Is this suited to a beginner? Yes, the listed skill level covers beginner and weekend-warrior use alongside light industrial jobs.
